Anna Phillips

Anna is the Schistosomiasis/STH Focal Point and Learning Lead in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team, which supports Act to End NTDs across 11 countries West Africa, the USAID NTD program implemented by the FHI 360 consortium based in Washington DC. Anna is responsible for coordinating and supporting scientific activities on schistosomiasis, STH as well as lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, and onchocerciasis.

Anna is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, following her role as the project coordinator for the Geshiyaro Project in Ethiopia. This project has a goal of interrupting transmission of SCH/STH through mass drug administration and WaSH. Anna is also the Principal Investigator investigating diagnostic tools for Schistosomiasis in Brazil, with funding from the Medical Research Council. Prior to working at Imperial College, Anna worked for eight years at the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative Foundation (SCIF) as a Senior Programme Manager in Francophone Africa (Burkina Faso, Niger, Cote D'Ivoire, Rwanda and Madagascar) and Mozambique.

Anna has developed strong cross-sectoral partnerships with country programs, donors, research, and policy influencers such as the Global Schistosomiasis Alliance. She has multiple years’ experience living in various countries and is multilingual, so is keen to get more francophone/lusophone perspective to the GSA table.
