ISNTD Connect | Test and Treat strategies for schistosomiasis elimination

10 Dec 2024, 2pm GMT
virtual event

As schistosomiasis prevalence decrease, alternatives to Mass Drug Administration are needed, particularly to ensure that those in need of treatment receive treatment, and that schistosomiasis infections rates do not bounce back to higher levels. Test and treat strategies can be an important part of the surveillance-response approach to sustain schistosomiasis elimination as a public health problem. This webinar will present findings from the SchistoBreak S. haematobium project in Pemba, Zanzibar, Tanzania and also discuss research-in-progress for S. mansoni in Kenya.

Speakers:

  • Steffi Knopp, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Switzerland
  • Lydia Trippler, University of Glasgow, UK
  • Florence Wakesho, Ministry of Health, Kenya

Date: Tuesday 10 December 2024

Time: 2pm GMT (London) / 5pm EAT (Nairobi) / 9am EST (New York)
