The 5th Symposium on Surveillance-Response Systems Leading to Tropical Diseases Elimination has been scheduled to be held on 15-16 June, 2020 in Shanghai. The theme of the symposium will be

“Sustaining the gains of surveillance response systems for the control and elimination of tropical diseases through cooperation and partnership".

Three main topics will be featured:

  • innovative technology to improve surveillance-response systems (SRS) effectiveness
  • sharing SRS approach in national control/elimination programmes; and
  • sustaining the gains of SRS through enhanced South-South cooperation and partnership.

The venue will include several back-to-back meetings.

[Please note; the second Global Schistosomiasis Alliance (GSA) workshop on schistosomiasis elimination which was planned for the 17-18 June, has been cancelled due to the impact of Covid-19 on international travel.]
