The Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases are pleased to announce that the 2023 COR-NTD Annual Meeting will take place Oct. 16 -17, 2023, in Chicago, IL, USA. This annual meeting is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

This year, in an effort to leverage in-person opportunities while still engaging with the wider community, the annual meeting will consist of hybrid plenary sessions, in-person breakout sessions, and a virtual Innovation Lab.

The decision to make the plenaries hybrid aims to facilitate accessibility to all attending virtually and in person. Breakout sessions will be held in-person in order to provide the best format for engaging and robust discussion as well as to best advance the research agenda. Nevertheless, these will be streamed in the event’s webpage for wider visibility.

Following the success of last year’s Innovation Lab, this feature will be virtual and interactive continuing to enable the participation of the largest number of innovators and attendees.

Call for Innovations for the COR NTD 2023 Annual Meeting

If you have been recently involved with the development of a new strategy, technology, or tool with the potential to help NTD programs, COR NTD invite you to apply to showcase your innovation for the hundreds of researchers, donors and program implementers who will attend.

The Innovation Lab will be held on Tuesday 17th October 2023, virtually, for 1.5 hours. Each innovator is asked to create a 5-minute video about their innovation, along with any supplemental materials, to be shared on the virtual platform throughout the entire event. During the Innovation Lab session, participants will select presenters to speak with in their virtual booth during scheduled times. Additionally, each innovation will be showcased with a 1-minute teaser video during opening plenary.

The selection process for these sessions has historically been managed by the COR-NTD secretariat and donors, with the aim of generating a diverse pool of strong sessions that represent the disease and subject matter interests of the coalition. In an effort to be more transparent and inclusive, this year COR NTD are issuing a call for those who would like to apply to be on the selection committee.
