New online course for WASH-NTD coordination by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and NALA
The Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health and NALA Foundation have officially launched a new online course for WASH-NTD coordination.
Check out the course at washntd.org. This course covers content on multi-sectoral advocacy, setting up coordination platforms, conducting joint work, and training facilitation and follows the content from the Woreda Level Coordination Toolkit for the WASH and NTD Sectors that NALA published with the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health in 2019.
This course is self-paced and available via desktop and mobile app, and it includes options for offline completion on the mobile app for when connectivity is low. The course uses questions, discussion forums, and scenarios with realistic challenges to practice the material. Participants from Ethiopia will receive a certificate of completion endorsed by the Ethiopian FMoH on course completion. International participants may self-register for the course and access all course content without the certificate.
Ethiopia has been a pioneer in strengthening multisectoral coordination across all levels, as a way to more effectively eliminate neglected tropical diseases and create more sustainability of WASH infrastructure. NALA has been a partner on this initiative since 2017. The new online course will help scale the training to all regions in Ethiopia and across multiple sectors.
