RSTMH | Research in Progress West Africa
Research in Progress West Africa, is a one-day meeting specifically designed to showcase ongoing research from students and those early in their careers carrying out research in the West Africa region. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in guidance sessions throughout the day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, along with opportunities to network. Certificates of attendance will be provided.
Keynote speaker, Professor Oyewale Tomori, Professor of Virology, ACEGID, Redeemer's University, Ede, will be giving the Soulsby Lecture on the topic of "One Health: The Confluence of Science and Society for addressing future pandemics". Professor Oyewale Tomor's lecture will explore the ways in which societal activities have influenced disease outbreaks and the significance of interdisciplinary scientific discoveries in shaping human response and control. Professor Tomor will use examples of past disease outbreaks as well as discuss the life and activities of Lord Soulsby.
